It is so crazy that after all of these years that we are still fighting and going through racism in the entertainment industry. One thing that stood out to me during the speech that Spike Lee gave when he won an Oscar was when he spoke of his Grandmother. His grandmother saved her Social Security Checks every year. The funds from her savings put him through college at Morehouse and has allowed him to film "She's Gotta Have It." This is a testament that when we continue to pursuit greatness that in due season you shall be rewarded. I applaud his grandmother for saving for her children's children.
